Talks with Tuchel break downHunt for new Bayern boss restartsDe Zerbi linked againWHAT HAPPENED?
According to HITC, De Zerbi is back in contention for the Bayern role after talks broke down between Thomas Tuchel and the club regarding him remaining in charge.
Bayern had previously looked into appointing De Zerbi, Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann to the role after it was originally announced Tuchel would be leaving back in February.
However, after missing out on both Nagelsmann and Alonso after they committed their futures to Germany and Bayer Leverkusen respectively, the possibility of Tuchel signing a new deal was discussed.
The Italian is now being considered for the role once again, with interest reportedly mutual from his side. Bayern have informed his representatives that they would be willing to pay his release clause if the German side pushes ahead with their interest.

De Zerbi spoke about his future last month and insisted he was committed to the Seagulls, saying: “I feel good in England, in the Premier League and I have no intention of leaving.
"There is no team that can change my mind, I have made a commitment. I like being outside and experiencing the atmosphere of the stadium. Furthermore, in England, I have the opportunity to improve my knowledge of the language and football.”
WHAT TUCHEL SAID
“This is my last press conference as FC Bayern manager, there were talks, but we didn’t reach an agreement so the decision from February still stands,” Tuchel explained in a recent press conference.
