The 27-year-old, who has scored 36 goals in 234 Premier League appearances in his career, was left out of the team for a pre-season friendly against Chelsea in Dublin.

During the post-match press conference, manager Unai Emery told the media that Ramsey was omitted due to “muscular pain”.

The Spaniard added that the injury is not regarded as a “big problem”, but that has not stopped the fans from speculating about the midfielder’s future.
